Bah! The P38 is a tenth of the size! Hell, I barely remember that I'm carrying one!

(That said, I'm a big fan of Swiss Army Knives.)

i don't remember im carrying mine along with my other 2 knives and one of my carry knives is a monster...

Dude.

Are you made of knives?

That said, I also carry a Gerber folder in my pocket on a daily basis. But the P38 is still great to have onhand.

yeah all I carry is a Spyderco stretch, CRKT M16-14SFG, and my swiss...

You've probably already seen what I carry when hiking. It's in my teeth in this pic, which I must point out was taken to be funny, and not srs bsnss.

Unknown brand, made in Pakistan. Blade 10". I do not know what kind of steel, but it holds an edge like a mofo and I have used it for everything from gutting catfish to chopping firewood to whittling. Sits on my leg just fine when I go camping.

Daily carry, I have a Gerber Gator.

HAY MAN MY SKS HAS THE SPIKE TOO.

Also, for home gardening, I use one of these.

Great for trimming the trees, also if Z-day happens.

i have a p38 in the kitchen, truck, wallet, on my keys, in my bob, 3 at my camp, one on my dresser, and two at work. never leave home without at least one. i also carry a puma 4" folder in my back pocket and a schrade 4" folder in my boot. the boot knife is always laser sharp cause i dont use it, but the one in my back pocket is razor sharp. it gets a hit on the rock daily.

I like the British one also. It has an extra "tool" built in. Most of us would call it a spoon. I guess a little better than eating those c rats with your fingers.

The P-38 is one of those indispensable little tools...cheap enough to have a bunch of them, just the thing when you need one, small, light, incredibly useful.

I was at work the other night feeling sick as hell and my coworker decide that opening a can with a set of needle-nosed pliers would be a good idea. I, REALLY not wanting to spend 5 minutes experiencing him stabbing through the top of the can loudly, snatched the can from him and opened it with the P-38 I keep on my keychain. That little device saved a man's life that night. I was not in the mood.

P-38's (John Wayne's) are nice but I prefer the P-51.
It's larger and gives more leverage, also doesn't hurt my thumb as much as the P-38.

I buy them by the 100 and give them to customer of "The Bunker" as freebies.
