A little OT...Who's Importing The Mosin Nagants?
« on: March 11, 2011, 04:17:57 PM »
I'm thinking of buying a crate of the currently imported 91/30 Mosin Nagants just to put aside.  Was wondering what company is importing them so that I can cut out the middle man and just buy a crate for myself (I have my own FFL, so that's not a problem).  I probably would just check serial numbers when booking them and just put the whole thing as is in the corner of my shop to collect dust for the next 20 years.
when i get out of here, when i leave you behind, i've found that the years passed us by

If you have an FFL Dealers License, go to Century Arms. They have what you requested plus some Sniper varieties.
Sign in or register as a dealer and you will find what you want.

Only FFL dealer can get to the pricing pages for CR items. Not me.

Don't mean to thread hijack, but has anyone ever bought a Mosin Nagant from them? This package doesn't look to bad, least it's complete in "excellent" condition.

Just bought one today. C.A.I. Georgia. Vt. is electro-penciled on the receiver. That is Century Arms.

You bought from a distributor, not an importer as RF asked about.

Then why are they so expensive? Can buy those rifles for less and equal or better quality today at the Quad Cities Gun show. Also, they state their guns stamped by them I think it said are done here in US. You can drive over to their shop in a few minutes so may be good for you. I'm only 50 minutes further away and won't even consider going there to pay more than Gun Show prices. I know the difference in prices also Captain!

have to ask them about their prices... i have no control over that...lol.
and the few i got, i got thru my local shop for $85 out the door... as many as i want. i was happy with that as at our last gunshow, the comparable mosins were $125+ with a waiting period and tax and all that fun stuff. the OP asked for importers and i threw out RGUNs as i know they have quality stuff... that was my only intention.
and its closer for me to drive to your gunshow than their shop.
century is probably the biggest or most heard of importer, but there are plenty of others... just have to actually do your homework and not hop to conclusions.

You might want to check SOG (Southern Ohio Gun) as well.

I don't know what they currently have, but as of a year or so ago they were selling boatloads of Mosins.

Try:
Southern Ohio Guns
AIM Surplus
J&G Sales

RGuns and Century are really set up to sell to distributors.
They will sell to individuals but it's not their primary gig.
The reason the distributors are cheaper is they buy by the pallet or container.
RGuns and Century keep their prices higher so they are not in direct competition with their customers.

I only buy new guns from Century and then only when I can't beat their price elsewhere.
Century is a good source for bulk ammo though.

If you can get Mosins with a spam can of Russian ammo for less than $140 you could probably make a tidy profit- most sites seem to be selling that ammo for $80 plus shipping by itself- that puts the price of the 91/30 at around $60 which seems to be tough to beat at the shows around here  :?

RGuns is also the only current source for real 91/30 snipers
If you don't know, shut yer hole
