Michio Kaku is probably just about as sensationalist a media figure as you have in modern science. I don't know why anyone gives this man a check, especially when he makes enough on his own from movies. He's made a lot of bad predictions and while very intelligent has really overstepped the bounds of sensibility in 'popularizing' science more than you can count.

I kind of wish James Randi would have a sit down chat with him sometime.

I wouldn't sweat it.

By the way, we're ALL going to DIE, for SURE, you know.  100% probability!!

I'd worry more about economic collapse before it gets anywhere close to 12/21/12....

Its starting right now because of our arguing politicians plus the greed of america too.  Its all unraveling now with the stock market.  Were will it stop no one knows its spiraling down into the basement i hope, let the greedy lose there shirts i could care less.

Has anyone ever thought that the Mayan calender maker may have run out of room on his rock?

LOL, good one.
Actually, the Mayan calendar is a cycle of some number (10, 12??) of smaller calendars.  When it hits the end (as it has once or twice before), it just restarts at "stone #1'.

I think we have a LOT more to fear from earthly forces in 2012 than by anything cosmic or geologic (do nukes count as geologic, though??).

No matter what, the earth isn't going to simply stop turning.  Lighten up, it'll be ok.    8)

Obviously they are Bigfoots.

Technically, they're Mayan Bigfoot ghosts from outer space, who live in Loch Ness.
Your close but "they" are really Lizard people disguised as Mayan Bigfoot ghosts from outer space, who live in Loch Ness.

NASA said since the earth quake in chile the earth is now wobbling about 3" off its axis.  I'm not sure what this really means in the future but the weather is going crazy with natural disasters lately.  I believe global warming is BS totally.  Its more like global cooling just wait for this winter.

Predictions that have been said so far;

Solar flares........... will BBQ us so hold hot sauce...pass the ketchup

A natural disaster ..will be taken as an attack by someone eager to push the final button to launch what ever (nuke every living thing)

WW3 its already started and going getting worse if we stay on the present path, with more countries being attacked and involved with nukes used as the final blow to finish us all off, the end, the finn, gonzo, finite.

A 50,000 people terrorist attack is planned in the US they have already predicted there here already.  Just waiting in sleeper cells.  They predict the mexicans are also linked up with the terrorists too.  That could make the numbers even higher.

An asteroid may hit us and change life as we know it.

Pic anyone of these and can we survive it?

50,000 terrorist vs. 80 million gun owners (say only one in 80 only takes up arms, that's still a million) and the US military that's stationed here. Good luck terrorist, you'll need it.

Were talking a 50,000 armed group of terrorsists even a smaller group will run us all over think about it were not organized or ready for that.

with all due respect i think you're nuts. no way in **** are these ****** currently residing in our beautiful land going to stand a snowballs chance in ****. we will surely send them packing to their alla in a hurry. i wish they would expose their silly **** for what they are, those of us in the know, know what their plan is. i say bring it. it beats battling the aclu and every other liberal *** organization if we were to try deportation. quick dispatch. yea.....

50,000 men in a country this large, no matter how organized, could do nothing more than control the ground they stand on. There are too many examples of how a small insurgency defeated a larger power. Even if nobody got organized, they would end up dying the death of a thousand cuts. People would organize to deal with a threat like that. Plus, home field advantage is entirely with us. How well do you know the place you live? The backroads, shortcuts, trails, terrain. We're already organized. Gun clubs, sheriffs depts, close friends and buddies, even the friggin boy scouts. They may cause chaos, but they will die and probably in short order. 50.000 men to subdue L.A., or Dallas/Ft Worth, or any other urban area?  50,000 men dropped in the Great Plains or the Rocky Mountains? Just from a logistical standpoint, these are dead men walking.

Here's the way I see it going down...

First strike by Russian and Chinese subs to take out command and control facilities, which will succeed since we are required by law to absorb an attack, white house doesn't get launch codes out, so silos remain closed.

At the same time US naval fleets, are hit by Russian/Chinese attack subs that were trailing our fleets..

Surviving Subs are forced to only launch missiles with conventional warheads at Russian and Chinese land targets..

Surviving ships and planes launch uncordinated attacks on Russian and Chinese military targets, which allows the vast majority of their military intact..As they had moved the majority of their military troops into hardened bunkers...

Twenty to thirty minutes later ICBM's launch by Russia start hitting thousands of military targets throughout the US..

Since its a first strike the US no longer has electricity, causing panic on the street, as chaos insues as the majority of the Americans have no idea of whats going on, law and order collapses without federal help..

Britain tries to come to US defenses in the first few minutes of the attack, which results in Britain recieving several strikes by Russian fighter bombers carrying nuke payloads..

NATO command and Control in panic as its communications systems are hacked and shut down and they immediately stand down as Russia offers not to attack European nations if they don't come to the defense of the US..

Within hours of the attack on the US, Islamic militants immediatly launch all out attacks on US bases throughout the middle east, overrunning the majority of the bases, after US troops run out of munitions..

Israel launces nuclear missiles towards several Arab capitals as an attempt to keep them from attacking Israel..Remnants of the Syrian, Lebanese, Iraqi, and Iranian forces launch a barrage of conventional, and NBC weapons against Isreal...

Saudi Arabia collapses as the Royal family are killed by Islamic militants that had inflitrated the Saudi military...

An embargo is immediatly announced against any US ships and subs that are still operational out in the oceans...Forcing the surviving ships and subs to return to their home ports, which no longer exists..

After weeks of looting and pillaging by survivors in the US..

Russian and Chinese ships carrying troops arrive off the west coast and they start their ground invasion...

Fantasy I hope , but instincts tell me its going to happen sooner rather than later..

who are you??? james cameron??
