Norinco SKS serial number and Triangle code.
« on: July 15, 2011, 10:56:15 PM »
Please help me out here, i just joined this forum today.
i recently bought a norinco sks from wolverine supplies (im canadian) and it has a serial number 1512151.
the triangle stamp is number 625 as according to this picture:
http://www.milsurps.com/images/imported/2010/11/factorycode4-1.jpg
also, it has a spike bayonet that is removable.
all the serial numbers match.
i would just like to know when it was made and where it was made and how much it might be worth.
it is in very good condition, a few nicks in the stock but otherwise fine
i paid 190 bucks for it.
is that good?

Welcome to the nuthouse. :king: :geek: The triangle stamp is the factory number and the only factory number that can be reliably dated are from factory 26. The Chinese were very secretive. Now if you can post some pictures somebody might get you within a few years by looking for such things as a threaded or pinned barrel or the location of the sling swivel.

Welcome to the board.
The only Chinese SKS that can be dated are the /26\ models. 190.00 dollars is a real good price, and depending on your location it could be worth $225.-300. dollars.

He's in Canada; I know the Russian rifles are going for $175 -$200 there (sometimes a lot less too), I would imagine that the Chinese rifles are about the same.....
