I have always wanted, but just can't justify the cost of one. I have recently bought a VeprII 308 for way under half the price of the super Vepr, they are very nice rifles. I think probably better built and finished than the Saigas. They are still an AK with a stamped receiver, yes they are heavier and all but its just the nature of design. 308 Veprs use a different bolt than Saigas do, it has slightly larger lugs so those parts are not interchangeable. And then there is the mag issue, mags run about 40- 50 bucks a piece, with the exception of some of the low cap ones and of course promag. Factory Vepr polymer mags are around that $50 price. The after market ones from Csspecs magazines are really top notch and a true match the workmanship of a Vepr, worth the money IMO, but still that's a lot of money for mags. Right now you can get some blem 20rd mags for $35 which is getting closer to the cost of new M14 or FAL mags
The only advantage the Super Vepr has is the barrel, and I am not sure how much that gives over the regular Vepr. Its heavier, fluted and it is ported., but all the 308 Veprs barrels are heavy up to the gas block,
The problem is the price point puts it in direct competition with FALs and some M1As, mags for either of those are abundant and relatively cheap. The super vepr is also pretty much configured how its going to be through its life without some work modifying things like another stock if you ever get tired of the thumbhole.
