The weakest point IMHO is the small screw into plastic for the pistol grip.  You can't do much about it easy because you need to remove the grip to get to the trigger group release.  I may epoxy in a nut so I can bolt it on better.
I suspect that would be first to go.
Look at that dinky thing.  I could probably get my youngest daughter that is still in grade school to karate chop it off with one hit.

The Tapco I installed had a pretty beefy self tapping bolt for the pistol grip. Supposed to use a 3/8" socket to install but my 3/8" did not seem correct and it got swapped with a metric equivalent. Feels very solid to me. Also the folder wobble or possibility of is the reason I opted not to get an ATI but if you got a deal and can live with/modify it then cheers bud.

I just installed a Timbersmith Thumbhole stock, in camo laminate, and wanted to post some pics/notes about it.

Here is the finished product:

I went back-and-fourth about the camo vs black...I already have a Mosin with a brown laminate stock and didn't want that again.  I am very happy with the choice of camo.  This was mostly a drop-in mod, however I did run into two small issues:

First was with the foregrip.  As if getting that dang pin out wasn't enough of a chore, the Timbersmith foregrip was about 3/32 too long to fit on the gun.  I sanded down the receiver-end of the foregrip and was ultimately able to get it to fit snug on the gun, just took some trial-and-error.  Try to keep patient with this because it is very hard not to get frustrated after the battle of the gas tube only to run into this small roadblock.

The other issue was with my Tech-Sight not clearing the stock behind the receiver and on the left-hand bolt hole.  Below you can see the 3/16-or-so material that I had to remove.  With a little bit of oil you almost won't notice that it isn't supposed to look like that!

Lastly is the sight picture.  I don't believe it would affect the factory sights at all, and it doesn't really affect the peeps, but you do notice the top of the foregrip just a little bit in your sight picture:

The stock IS pre-drilled for the cleaning rod hole, however it does NOT have a bayo cutout.  The spike bayo that came with my Norinco was a short spike and I was able to keep it on with this stock, though it might have created a small dimple where the very end rested against the stock.  A longer spike or blade bayo WILL NOT fit this stock.  The stock comes with a butt-pad but does not have provisions to accept the cleaning kit.  It also does not come with any sort of sling mounts (though I believe they have that as an option).

I have NOT yet tested detachable magazines with this.  I am getting in some Tapco 20-rounders next week and will test them at that time and report back.

I absolutely love this stock.  The gun feels completely different, shoulders perfectly for me and I have perfect sight acquisition on my irons, and pretty good acquisition on the optics.  With the factory stock I had a hard time using my irons because the kick would force the scope to bop me in the forehead...no such problems with this one.  It was hard for me to spend $180 on a stock for a gun that cost me $300, but that's what Christmas bonuses are for...right?!

A+ in my book...just don't get frustrated during the foregrip fiasco!

The Tapco Intrafuse 20rd clip fits into the Timbersmith Thumbhole stock without any fitment issues:

Boatguy:
I recently queried Boyds about an SKS stock.  I have checked with them about once a year for the last three years.   They DO NOT make any SKS stocks nor do they have immediate plans to service this market.   Unfortunate but true.
I own a discontinued Butler Creek black plastic sporter stock.  It is very nice - slim and a perfect fit.   I also own an ATI sporter stock which is thicker, heavier and clunkier than the Butler Creek. I shoot left shoulder and left eye so the huge monte carlo swell on the ATI is a hinderance.   I started to cut it off but its hard stuff to cut cleanly.  Will certainly keep an eye out for another Butler Creek.    Meanwhile my second SKS is in OEM wood with a nice sniper grip extension and ammo sleeve - nice and light and very functional.  Also I have recently bought an ATI nonfolder and ordered the folding piece from ATI   they refuse to tell me when they may ship - as long as four to six weeks from the placement of the order - this is in mid- Feb 13
So there is NO Boyds stock available for SKS and my vote for nice aftermarket is the discontinued Butler Creek sporter.

Hopefully this will help someone looking at stocks

Yeah, when I put the Boyd's line up there I may have been thinking about Fajen. Years past one of them did make an SKS MC stock. The more I think about it the more I think it was Fajen that made them. Anyway, a mute point since Fajen is no more and Boyd's doesn't make them at present.
As to your Butler Creek, they are nice stocks, but have gone the same way as Fajen. You would have to look for a Choate or Ram-Line to get a sporter stock that is ambidextrous. Either of which would be a better option than an ATI.
