To my surprise I bumped into a gentleman today looking to sale a Navy Arms Chinese Norinco Cowboy Companion, new in the box. I’ve searched on GB but could not find but a single comp.

One would be a decent price for one?

A complete package, with T89 mount and Red Star scope, can fetch some pretty good bank these days, Russian SKS money. I've seen them sell for as much as $1200 bucks, nice but used. NIB is the bee's knees! If you could get him to take $800 you'd be doing alright. If he knows what he's got, might be tougher to get it under a $1K. The SKS market is all over the place, but a CC is a unique and kinda rare item. Good luck, I hope you get it for dirt. PAX

Yeah, I agree with PAX, if it's complete with scope and mount it'll bring a pretty penny.

A few years back one sold privately near me it was also new in box with everything that’s goes with it for $950.00. With inflation then I’m seeing $1200.00 easily now. If you can get it for $1000 or under I would think you’re doing good. It’s only going to go up in value.

Bro jump in both of those right now. Try the $1200.00 if he won’t budge then pay him the fell price. You could sell one and almost be able to keep the other for free in the current SKS market. Remember to post picks if you get them.

Yes indeed. If you're in a free state, get them today. The only downside to getting them for dirt, is that now you have an "investment" and their value will only increase if not used. Tough to ignore that aspect and can create a shooting dilemma. I try not to think about the resale value of weapons, but it's only NIB once. PAX

Well I got the Cowboy Companion for $650. Looks like he is holding the M for his Nephew but said if he couldn’t pull the money together in two weeks I could have it also. He pitched me a curve ball when I got there, also having an AK variant laying out for me to look at. He called it a Norinco Hunter. I had never seen or heard of them. The gun was new never fired and it came with, cleaning kit, 1-5rd magazine, sling and a badly worn ratty box. He had No paperwork or additional information with it. Help me place a value on it also….he was asking several hundred more for it. I asked if I could snap a couple pics and do a little research on it.
 
Anything that can be shared on the Norinco Hunter AK would be appreciated….

The Norinco hunters are very collectible they were brought in for the 94 AWB ban I believe. They are with well over $1K easily so if it’s $1200 or below I would be all over it.

That’s surprising. Anything Norinco seems to bring high dollars these days. I watched one spiker go for over $3k last week and another Norinco type 56 with box and bayonet for almost $5k. They were Arms unlimited auctions on GB. I know the Hunters weren’t as popular but there seems to be less of them.

Still for $800.00 to $850.00 it’s a decent deal for a modern collectible.

His best money on the Hunter is $900. For the moment I have past on the Hunter, it’s a very nice looking rifle….However I’m going to see what works out with the M, man is that thing a Beauty. I just don’t want to stretch myself to thin, if the M should come available.
