Ready and waiting for the new front sight

Five-0:
I picked up a beater with the front of the barrel pretty much destroyed. It looks like Bubba was attempting to remove the front sight but made a real mess out of it. It was just what i have been looking for and at the right price.

Cut off the damaged part of the barrel back to 16 1/4".




Using one of Dave Manson's Military Crowning Kits I cut the end of the barrel square with his 0 dergree cutter. Then cut the crown with his 11 degree target crown cutter.




Then after the annular cutter to get the barrel diameter down to the correct size i threaded it for the 14 X 1 left hand threads, the .611 is the depth of the threads in the Lantac and now also on the barrel.





I installed one of the Lantac Drakon muzzle brakes and timed the threads for the correct 6 o'clock position of the muzzle brakes top holes.




Swapped out the old beat up stock for a Choate's light weight Sporter.




And now i am waiting on the final touch. A Tech Sight rear and a Bullet Button front. Oh....The waiting is killing me!

Received the new front sight today. Leveled the receiver and then installed and leveled the top of the sight. Both the receiver and top of new front sight show dead nuts level. Sighting down the rifle the new front looks perfectly straight. A prettier picture i have never seen!
