Chinese 1887 Clone and Stoeger Coach guns

(1/2) > >>

Greatguns:
I found the above mentioned locally and am thinking about getting one...or both. $150 and $125 respectively which is dirt cheap, but they both have a slight amount of surface rust/pitting. Anybody have good intel on these? (especially the Chinese as it looks more old school than the Stoeger)

No pics ATM, but will work on getting a few posted later.

xtriggerman:
Even with rust they both a steal at that price. I couldnt get my walet out fast enough if I saw a deal like that. The last 1887 China unit I saw on GB went for over 600 bid. The coach is Turkish I think but relatively reliable as a knock around gun as you would know. I remember a review of the Chinese 87 when they first came out and they were by no means as smooth as a Winchester but they said it did free up a little after a few boxes were shot threw it. Maybe the owner all ready broke it in? I bet you could triple your money on the 87 just parting it out. I would like to own one just for the unique design and like I said, this is one of those deals, I would hurry up and give him what he wants before he changes his mind. If you get them, picture them up!

Danjal:
The coach guns are Brazilian. The firing pins are weak, the extractors are poorly cut, and the barrel lugs are weak. Expect to do some finishing or work on them.

Greatguns:
Well, don't have to worry about the Stoeger as it got sold already. Going to buy the Chinese though. For $150 and it was the better condition of the 2 I figure I can't go wrong.

Greatguns:
I picked up the 1887 Clone yesterday and it is in better shape than I thought from the picks I had seen. Got it home, re-anchored the trigger guard which had come loose at the front and then buffed out the front 6" of the barrels to get rid of some surface rust. Cleaned it and gave it some gun oil and she is looking pretty good I think. Here's some pics.
