Help - How Do I Install the AMD-65 Hinge Pin

AMD-65 Hinge Pin

I was moving right along on an AMD-65 Side Folder build, when I realized I didn’t know how to insert the Hinge Pin for the folding stock. I have never had a folder before and I don’t have anything to compare it to. I think I understand the locking mechanism, but I thought I should ask the experts about the hinge pin.

Do I just line it up and press it in and let friction hold it in place or is there something that attaches to the ends of the pin.

Also is it better to press it in with the Press, or drive it in with a punch?

The hinge pin installs from the top. You tap it into place and then use a pin punch or nail set in the dimple to install it fully.  It will stay in place by an interference fit by the design of the assembly.
