What is your caliber of choice for SHTF

So in a general SHTF scenario, what is your caliber or calibers of choice? What is your go to caliber for a variety of applications? I'm assuming since this the sksboards, that 7.62x39 is at least one persons go to caliber.

My go to caliber is 12 Gauge. It can be used for just about anything except for long distance shooting. 9mm is my go to sidearm caliber. If I ever have to shoot at long ranges I'm likely boned, but I'll deal with that when I get to it. I could always try to get closer I guess.

9mm and 5.56/223 is what I'm invested in when it comes to SD. If I had to arm someone else outside my household then I could supply a large amount of AK's and x39.

I really like my new shield for edc but my 1911 .45 auto would have to be my side arm of choice. The action is so smooth and I'm very accurate with it.

I've really become attached to my AK47 since I got the Romeo 5 red dot. Dead on.

The shotgun is a good choice. Mine's a full length 12 pump so not really something I would go to first. IF I had my buddy's saiga 12, now that would more than fit the bill. 3 or 4 25 round drums and your ready to rock n roll. 00 buck 3 inch magnum rounds will do some serious damage.

 I'm well stocked with both 5.56 and X39 for MBR's. For pistols I'm partial to 1911/45 acp. For close work or nighttime, I've got the 12ga and stock a few hundred rounds each of #4 & 00 buck.
If the need arises for long range shooting, I have an extremely accurate Ruger M77 Varmint in .243 Win. and two decently accurate Ruger M77's in 7mm Rem.

It would depend on what am I trying to do. Defend the home, hunt food, long distance shooting, up close and personal? 9mm Beretta pistol, 12ga Browning, M1A, 5.56, 22mag rifle (small game), Swede for long range and of course the x39. It would be whatever the situation calls for IMHO anyway.

9mm, .45acp, 22lr, .223/5.56, 7.62x39, 7.62x54r and 7.92x57. We have alot of kids (well trained) and a big family/small army so we have something for everyone.

Flip the alarms on auto, motion sensors set them off.  AR for people trying to wade through the swamp old 1903 with AP to clog the drive with the first vehicle

Personally when you have small children it doesn't get much worse then a 2am home invasion or a car jacking. Everything thing else is just playing the walking dead in your mind.

9mm for handgun, 5.56 for rifle are what I stock up on.  Also have some x39 supply and rifles to use it, but I'm much more trained in AR's and Glocks so that's what I stock up on.

If I'm dealing with a home invasion etc., 12 ga. #4 buck
If I'm dealing with an external threat or have to be mobile I'd much rather rely on the M1A but round count for a given weight that I can carry says 5.56
