7.62x39 and 5.56 NATO.

I reload and have at least 1000 rounds of 44 magnum, 357 magnum, 223 and 300 blackout and more 22 that I can shake a stick at, also 1000 rounds of 9mm hollow points and 12 ga 000 buckshot.

If it came right down to it and we are talking only one caliber to choose, it would be 7.62 X 39. Until I had purchased my first SKS I would have went with 12ga. Not anymore but I would take 12ga second choice. In MHO 7.62 X 39 is head and shoulders above 5.56 as a SHTF caliber.

308/7.62 Nato. If I had to choose 1, and only one. I live on the outskirts of suburbia, surrounded by woods and farms. Some mountains not too far away. I love my Vepr 308, and 308 is common, the 7.62 Nato round is used by military, it will hurt up close, will hurt far away. Will cover the distance, and punch thru barriers and brush. I have a bunch stocked up, and while the recoil is more stout than 5.56 and 7.62x39, not unbearable.

Here in a small city in Canada, I choose . . . .22LR, or .223, or .308, or 7.62x39, or 12g - First come first served   :shock:  Then .22 or .177 air after the first 10,000 customers   8)

I’m thinking 9 mm largo, 7.62x25, 7.62x54r, 8 mm mauser.

Normal calibers 223, 308 win, 30-06.
