Rounds to carry?
« on: April 14, 2018, 09:26:28 PM »
In a "bug out" situation,  How many rounds to carry?

50?
100?
Rounds are heavy.

Normal US Army was 210 rounds of 5.56 but that was min. A wheelbarrow sounds better but why use just two wheels, I say use a wagon to help you being all items you need when there’s no motorized transportation if there’s a hard pathway.

Porters, plan on porters for SHTF.
Experience is the hardest kind of teacher, it gives the test 1st and the lesson after.

Courage is knowing it may hurt and doing it anyway.
Stupidity is the same.
This is why life is so hard.

I'm taking my Deuce and a half when I bug out......... how many will that hold?

But seriously if I where on foot, I would take as much as I possibly could and get rid of it when I had too......depending on the round I'm guessing 300-400 plus a brick of .22. Can always get rid of it a few miles down the road if it turns out to be too much, but gonna be hard to get more.....

Depends on too many variables to give you a general answer.
More than I think I'll need is a short answer.

Multiply the population within 5 miles of your house by 2.

Get a pack animal.

If I were you, I'd be looking for a safe bug out location where I'd have stocked up on supplies and ammo, so I'd only need to carry as much needed to get there, including every loaded weapon I could possibly carry.
When the SHTF you better already have it at hand, because it won't be on the shelves when you get to the Wal-Mart land.

Where is "safe" when events to come are unknown?
