Not that I agree with all of this article we need to start somewhere. To me education is the big one but all combined is a huge snow ball looking to steam roll us. (Like a snow ball can produce steam  )

I struggle daily with some of the crap my kids are learning from other children.  We are "Mormons" but there is a limit to how sheltered I want my family to be.  My kids were recently going to a daycare that accepted state-funded low income families, which isn't a bad thing, but my wife works at said daycare and the things she's observed from some of these kids and the lack of parenting involved is alarming.  My 8yr old made a "joke" yesterday about how I should crash the car so we die and her friends won't be mean to her anymore.  Needless to say they stopped going to day care.  I teach my kids to question everything, including our religion, so that they will grow and learn for themselves.  They don't have ipads or cell phones and I've pretty much banned everything but good 'ol Disney+ and its racially and culturally insensitive classic cartoons.  Society is putting as many kids in their own safety bubbles as it can and I fear for the world when the warranty runs out and all the bubbles start popping.  Case in point would be all the senseless gun violence being brought front and center.  My 8, 6, and even the 3yr old all know where my guns are and how they function.  They have been educated by me in this way so that they will know what NOT to do if they ever happen upon an unsecured firearm away from home.  The "wokeness" (I hate that term) needs to stop.

The day before yesterday, my 7 year old said "Dad, do you have an assault rifle?"  I told him no, but I have an AR 15.  He then asked me how many other rifles I had, and I told him that I have a few, but we don't tell people about them, because bad people may try to steal them.

I explained to him again that I own guns to keep the family safe, and if someone is asking, tell them either we don't have any or that it's none of their business.

I didn't want him to feel like he's in trouble for asking, but after a little time has passed, I plan on asking him who is talking to him about whether or not Dad owns guns.  It may just be from him seeing me watch gun related content on youtube, or seeing me clean one the other day.

I would hate to find out his teacher is asking him about my status as a gun owner, but I wouldn't be surprised...
